A Taste schools week is an opportunity to build up or make new contact with the high schools in your area. It culminates in a concert that attracts many non-Christian young people who will not only have a very positive experience of a Christian event but for some is the start of a real desire to know more about the Christian faith.

Taste is able to take on a full timetable of assemblies, RE, PSE and Music lessons as well as lunchtime or break time mini-concerts. All of these involve setting up their PA, lighting and big-screen projecting equipment which offer schools high quality professional standard presentations on various subjects relevant to the school curriculum. Spending a week in school(s) enables pupils to get to know Taste, the people, the music and the message so that they are more likely to come along to a final evening concert, normally held in the school, where there is an opportunity for those interested to take the next step.

We would therefore recommend that it is followed by a discovery course such as Check it out (coming soon) or Youth Alpha.

Duration

Taste like to spend a week in one school but where this is not possible a number of schools can be visited over the week. The final concert, normally on a Friday evening, lasts for two hours and we recommend that refreshments are served during an interval half way through the concert.

We would recommend the main school hall for maximum attendance. Alternatively a town hall / leisure facility can be used quite effectively.
A church hall could be used but usually attracts lower numbers.

A minimum stage area or platform of 6m x 4m is required.
